Who Needs a Budget?

Today, Saturday, November 1, Who Needs a Budget?

When you were young and got your first checkbook, you learned that you could only spend what you had in your account. And when that was gone, well, you had nothing left for the rest of the month. So then you had to be responsible and disciplined to make it last the whole month each month. And any other scheduled expenses. That was your first journey into budgeting.

And it lasts your whole life. Everyone has budgets. Some may not have to worry too much about theirs, but everyone basically has a budget.

Here on the internet, your PayPal (or whatever payment processor you use) is your “checking account”. To build your business successfully, you must manage it just like you would your personal offline checking account.

Marci went over some of the pitfalls of online budgeting. Also some personal experiences of hers that we all seem to go through as we financially mature with our businesses – Affiliates or site owners.

Paying Attention Pays Off

Today, Saturday, October 25th, Paying Attention Pays Off

Here in the Internet Marketing world, the devil isn’t in the details, the devil is ignoring the details! Each of us is running their own business. And skipping the details in your business is definitely the road to disaster!

From advertising to networking to budgeting, the details make you more successful. Nobody wants to lose signups, commissions, or sales because they made a typo in the URL they’re promoting. Or to banners that don’t show the image. Or wording their ads to attract unresponsive subscribers. Or wasting their budget on traffic that doesn’t work or is ineffective.

There are so many ways that you can slow your business. Or destroy it. However, just paying a little more attention to the details is all it could take to keep it on track and growing it tremendously!

Come listen and get all the details…

Traffic Exchanges Work!

Today, Saturday, October 18th, Traffic Exchanges Work!

Track, Track, Track!!!

The first thing any traffic Exchange user needs to do is TRACK their pages. And the ONE page that NOBODY should be promoting in exchanges is a Sales Page! With only seconds to make an impression on the surfers, sales pages full of text that go on and on and on are a waste of your resources.

Volume/Quantity is easy to tell when promoting. However, quality in advertising at traffic exchanges can only be determined by tracking! If you don’t know where you are getting signup results, then you can’t tell where you SHOULD be spending your time and money for advertising.

With careful analysis, you can even tell where you should be surfing and where you should be spending money on credits too. So if you TRACK, you can get results with traffic exchanges. And lots of people are making money with exchanges doing just that!

Email Advertising and You

Today, Saturday, October 11th, Email Advertising and You

Marci’s key points today were product familiarity and passion…

Don’t try to promote a site if you aren’t familiar with it. If you aren’t familiar with it enough to answer questions about it (without researching) then you shouldn’t try to promote it. And if you don’t know it well enough to enjoy using it, then how can you show passion in your email for it?

Marci also gave a quick breakdown of your successful email. Starting with the opening line, which should set the tone and topic for the email. Then to the passionate detailed description of ONE of the benefits/features.

Next, the call to action. Show your passion in your call to action! Not a dull and mundane “click here” or “join here”! Show a passionate action like “grab it” or “don’t waste another second…”. Use your imagination! And, of course, make it an immediate action!

Finally, you get to the signature and the P.S. I’m not going to expand on these here. Check out the recording to hear the rest. You’ll be glad you did!

Evergreen Products and You

Today, Saturday, October 4th, Evergreen Products and You

Evergreen… No, not a pine tree! “Evergreen” products and services are ones that can be used year ’round, year after year, by virtually anyone in the I.M. Community.

So what kind of products and services are Evergreen? One of the biggest is TRAFFIC. Everyone needs traffic. Whether it’s traffic exchanges, mailers and mailing services, or any other form of getting viewers to your chosen opportunity, product, or service.

Other Evergreen products and services include autoresponders, tracking, domain registering, splash and squeeze page (webpage) making services, and hosting. Everyone might not choose all of them but anyone can to extend the scope of their business. Be it affiliate or site owner.

I got a little crazy toward the end (LOL) but come listen to more details here…

Maximizing Your Funnel

Today, Saturday, September 27th, Maximizing Your Funnel

The key program to maximizing your funnel ,which Marci referred to as “my own shop attendant” is your autoresponder…

Now, to that purpose…

Send emails frequently enough to show your subscribers who you are. By telling stories or sharing videos of you… Show them that you’re a real person

When you start with a free gift to get them signed up, promote it as a BONUS, not a free item. A bonus has a better perceived value.

Next, make sure you are promoting evergreen programs/services/products in your email series. Evergreen is something that practically anyone can use anytime. An autoresponder isn’t much good if you constantly have to change out what you promote!

How to balance your promotions in your email series? I’ll let Marci explain that.

Come listen to the details here…

It’s Time for Some Answers!

Today, Saturday, September 20th, It’s Time for Some Answers!

Well we started with a question: “Marci, if you had the chance to do anything else, would you?” Marci’s reply was emphatically “NO!” ” I would have to work someone else’s hours… I love my job!”

Then we covered a technical issue, another question for Marci personally, and some more technical and administration type questions. We also covered a couple splash pages.

So it was a little bit of everything (complete with some silliness and asides thrown in by Marci who is still recovering from the Flu). 🙂

Are You Prepared?

Today, Saturday, September 13th, Are You Prepared?

Do you have life insurance? All set to take care of your loved ones when the unthinkable sneaks up on you? Well, what about your online affairs? Are they insured? As far as I know, there’s no such thing as online insurance to take care of your online affairs.

So what happens to your commissions? Your subscriptions? And, if you’re a membership site owner, your site and its concerns? Marci and I both agreed that supplying access to your PayPal (and any other payment processor you use) account should be your first concern.

That’s IF you want your loved ones to get the balance left in there. (They can change the bank account so they can access the funds.) And IF you want your outstanding subscriptions to stop pulling funds from that balance.

How computer literate are your loved ones? Do you need to spell everything out or do they know how to do some or most of the things that need to be done? And do you need to put that information offline or online (or both) for them to access it?

If you’re a site owner, have you got a possible new owner lined up? Or can/will your loved ones run the site when you’re gone? Or do they just need to know how to stop your online “utilities” and shut it down?

This was a very intensely information packed subject today. Because there were lots to cover and you never know when it’s your time. (Rest In Peace Veronica Smith, aka Lady “V” 🙁 We’ll miss you very much.)

How Long Has it Been?

Today, Saturday, September 6th, How Long Has it Been?

How long ago was it that you put your email series in for your autoresponder campaign(s)? One year? Two? Three? More?

If it was just a week or two ago, then there’s probably not much to worry about. As long as you have enough letters spread out to last awhile. If you’ve set up a bulletin style series, then it should last awhile. That’s mostly content.

But you can’t make money if you don’t pitch something in your autoresponder emails! When is the last time that you checked to make sure that the program you promoted is still online? If it was/is an Evergreen product, then it most likely will still be available. Evergreen means that a product or service is basically usable and applicable to practically everyone. However, things happen. For one reason or another, the owner might not still be online or around.

And technology changes. If you promoted a service, has something better replaced it? Has it been forced into obsolescence? Are there changes to the program/service that you need to know about? You need to be aware of these changes or YOU just might be obsolete!

Hey, if Marci forgot to check these things, then anybody can forget… LOL

And in the course of the seminar, once again, even Marci learned something new!

So come listen to the details here…

Need a Bit More Focus?

Today, Saturday, August 30th, Need a Bit More Focus?

From Day One in internet marketing, you’re constantly being bombarded with information, instructions, and opportunities wherever you turn. So how do you maintain your focus on your top goal and yet, still diversify your income?

It must be a pretty important question because we had a LOT of questions and interaction today! And golden nuggets everywhere for everyone.

One of the first keywords for today was Spread:

What’s your spread of views per program in your rotator? The bigger the spread, the less focus you have on each of the programs in your rotator.

What’s your spread of referrals in your programs? If your referrals are in programs where you can mass message them, then the more the programs, the more mass messages you have to send to reach them.

That’s where it would be massively easier if you had those referrals in YOUR own list in YOUR own autoresponder account. And if you’re messaging them in the various programs (or exchanges) then you run the risk of being reported for spamming.

Marci also went into more tips and tricks for maintaining your focus in and outside of your own list. Come listen to the details here…
