Whether it’s a sports event or a play, you can’t tell the players apart without a program! Well, the same holds true for your marketing and advertising.

You can’t tell the success of an ad with tracking! What site did the signup come from? How many of the signups came from that site. Was there a sale/upgrade with it?

And you can’t increase the success of your ads without testing them. That means making little changes (tweaking) and seeing if they perform better.

I was late getting into the helpinar today. Technical problems getting into the room and getting sound. So I had to scramble to get the sweepstakes number guesses. I thought I got all the guesses, but didn’t have as many as I usually get.

So when it came time to announce the winners, I was surprised to find out that the ones Marci copied down for me weren’t in the list that I had. Good thing Marci was helping or I wouldn’t have awarded the prizes to the right people! Then, when all was done, Brenda reminded me to give her a “heads up” when I have problems getting in so she could jot down the numbers for me!

Now, I could have fumbled my way through all this and got it wrong. However, I got it right with the help of the team. So even when i think I’m acting alone online, I’m not, really.

This was just one example of getting help from a team online. I could mention a LOT of times that I’ve helped someone else or they have helped me. It’s saved me time and made me money. It’s saved them time and made them money. So NEVER forget that you can save yourself and others time and make yourself and others money!

So what is a great deal at a traffic exchange? (Or mailer, too.)

Well, you’ll never know unless you do some research. You need to get an idea of what exchanges generally sell their ad products for. Whether it’s for just one site or many, you need to get a “feel” for the prices.

You also need to figure out the worth of those products to you. If you’re not getting results at a site, there’s no amount of ad products, whether they’re credits or impressions or an upgrade, worth your money! This is where the research comes in — In the form of tracking.

You also need to get an idea of how much time or effort it would take you to earn the equivalent of that product if you didn’t purchase it. What’s your time and effort worth to you?
