Feeling a Bit Overwhelmed?

Today, Saturday December 7th, The topic was Feeling a Bit Overwhelmed?

Even starting at Affiliate Funnel can be overwhelming if you let it. There are lots and lots of traffic exchanges that you can join. And lots of safelists, mailers, and other resources to join too. First, Marci made the most obvious point – Don’t rush in and join all of the exchanges at once. Start with a handful, then add a couple a week so you can take some time to learn about each one and it’s unique benefits.

Even though most of the exchanges use but a few different scripts, there are different options and customizations that the owners can set or purchase. And learning your way around each will help you better utilize everything at your fingertips in each one.

Marci also went over taking things in pieces, or steps. Affiliate Funnel starts with the members’ page which flows step by step. Then you proceed to the Lessons that flow step by step. Then you work your way across the menu tab by tab. She emphasized that you need to maintain that step by step focus to keep from getting overwhelmed with any projects or tasks needed to get your business going and off the ground.

What Are You Thankful For?

Today, Saturday November 30th, The topic was What Are You Thankful For?

Marci went right down the list, talking about how Affiliate Funnel helps everyone brand themselves. She covered the “Your Money Pages” that allow each one to promote the programs that THEY want to include in their marketing funnel. Customizing their own business as they see fit.

Of course, she included thanks for our seminars, which offer information and tips, as well as like minded people to gather with. This is how Marci and many others have learned and grew to make a living from the internet. This includes thanks for a regular seminar to attend where nobody has to sit through a long long pitch to then spend lots of money on a product or lose the value of the seminar.

Then she went right down the list of some of our best resources that help us manage and control our businesses and ad sources.

So come and check it out! There’s LOTS of great info and a little entertainment. You can listen to the Spreecast recording here:

What’s Yer Brand?

Today, Saturday November 23rd, The topic was What’s Yer Brand?

Marci basically divided “your brand” into 2 types: positive and negative. Of course, the negative type gives you a bad reputation with other marketers and the marketing community and that’s NOT a good thing! However, she did point out that some negative branding CAN be a good thing if you’re the type of “Howard Stern” shockster that people are drawn to despite themselves.

Of course, most of us want to reach other positive people and that’s done through positive branding — maintaining qualities that others appreciate as their sponsor or site owner. Things like how helpful you are, and how much trust, respect, and integrity they see in you. And, since word of mouth is still a major means of marketing, how you treat others will become part of your branding.

So it’s not just your face and your name that brand you. It’s also how you form people’s feelings when they see your face and name!

Show Us Your Commando Links!

Today, Saturday November 16th, The topic was Commando Links Are Here!

We saw a couple pages using Commando Links. Mats showed his first Commando Links page and Marci showed one that she put together. That’s all that were available right now! It’s only been a week and everyone’s been busy busy busy. We looked at a couple other splash pages while we were waiting for more Commando Link pages.

Marci also explained why third party hosting doesn’t work for the Commando Links. And went over a few splash page basics again.

So come and check it out! There’s LOTS of great info and a little entertainment. You can listen to the Spreecast recording here:

Commando Links Are Here!

Today, Saturday November 9th, The topic was Commando Links Are Here!

We released Commando Links this week as a totally awesome way to help you spread the word about current surf promotions with splash pages that have YOUR links in them!

Marci explained that all an owner has to do is add a bit of code to a splash page, and give it to their members to promote! Then Commando Links do the rest! She didn’t go into any technical explanations, since it’s supposed to be easy – no fancy coding involved. That’s already been done in the javascript code that was created to be added in the splash pages.

And as a special scoop Marci explained the code and let the “cat out of the bag”– As of Sunday the 10th this feature will be open to all members in TECP, not just the owners.

So come and check it out! There’s LOTS of great info and a little entertainment. You can listen to the Spreecast recording here:

We Love Splash Pages!

Today, Saturday November 2nd, The topic was We Love Splash Pages!

Why? Because they are what works in Traffic Exchanges! People that don’t believe exchanges work either haven’t used splash pages, or haven’t used TEs at all.

Most surfers are tab surfing. That leaves 1-2 seconds when the pages change and when the surfers click off of them to get their first impression. If all they see is a bunch of tiny words and a collage of images, then they’re not really seeing anything.

This is where splash pages come in: Quick loading and quick and easy to see pages. Pages with a little bit of images to grab the viewers’ attention and just enough features/benefits that they WANT to see.

Marci got into a little more detail explaining how to get your images to load faster. She also reminded that your button should link to a new tab/window so the viewer can easily get at the follow-on page(s).

Then we gave feedback on several of the attendees’ splash pages.

Are You a Self Saboteur?

Today, Saturday October 26th, The topic was Are You a Self Saboteur?

One of the first things Marci brought up is “What are your self defeating patterns?” That is, what are you repeatedly doing without checking yourself? Are you surfing the same exchanges day after day without a thought to your results, simply because YOU like those exchanges? Maybe they’re fun to surf but, if they’re not adding value to your business, then you should see how your time could be better spent.

What else are you doing, simply out of habit, that’s not adding to your bottomline? Not all of your business is fun. Make sure that you do what has to be done, not just what you enjoy!

And are you undervaluing your time and marketable skills? You can help out others. That’s part of being a sponsor to the programs. But, don’t make yourself a broke expert instead of a paid Pro. You have to draw a line somewhere to separate giving help from getting paid for your services.

This led to some further discussion about putting a value on your time. When is it more cost effective to surf/click credit links or buy credits? HOw much is YOUR time worth?

So come and check it out! There’s LOTS of great info and a little entertainment. You can listen to the Spreecast recording here:

Preserving Privacy While Promoting

Today, Saturday October 19th, The topic was Preserving Privacy While Promoting

So most of Marci’s information was mostly about using common sense. But some is still just learning where to divide YOUR personal life from YOUR business. Knowing what goes in your personal social accounts and your business social accounts.

In today’s world, so many outside agencies are getting more and more involved in checking out your FaceBook pages and maybe your LinkedIn acccount or Twitter account. Employers are using them more and more to screen prospective employees. They don’t want any unexpected outlandish behavior. And timelines go waaaaay back now. Who else is looking at YOUR social posts?

Also consider what you are using in your blogs and youtubes. Are you infringing on someone else’s rights, or them on yours? Come have a listen and find out!

How to make money online

Today, Saturday October 12th, The topic was How to make money online and was guest hosted by Troy due to Marci’s hoarseness.

So Troy talked about bartering – giving something of value for payment. The keyword being VALUE. To get paid, you must provide value to your customer.

But where do YOU fit in? Are you a program owner? A product owner? Then you have to provide a program or service of value. The ideal program or product for most marketers in the IM environment is a service or tool to help others build their business. Not an opportunity – most already have an opportunity that they are promoting AS their business.

If you chose/choose to be an affiliate, then your list is your LEVERAGE to residual income. By using valuable tools and reviewing them for your list of subscribers, you can gain a loyal following of referrals for those services and tools.

So come and check it out! There’s LOTS of great info and a little entertainment. You can listen to the Spreecast recording here:

Get Your Priorities Straight

Today, Saturday October 5th, Marci’s topic was Get Your Priorities Straight

Today Marci covered some of the ways that you can prioritize your business. First, since time is your one finite resource, you have to balance your schedule with PEOPLE.

If you can help someone when they need it — Great! But, sometimes you’re right in the middle of your top priority project for the day and you just have to tell them to “come back later”. Explain it to them as simple as you can and get back to them as soon as you can.

Another item: Not letting your focus on one goal jeopardize the status of your business’s Big Picture. Don’t get so involved with an unprofitable project that you lose your profit making time for your business. For example, spending hours on end surfing might not be quite so profitable if you don’t have a Splash or Squeeze page that’s getting you the results you want. Maybe that would be better spent fine tuning your pages.

And Marci covered the 3 main priorities of your business:

1. Providing the service or product that you promised.

2. Making your business profitable.

3. Making a list of your daily and ongoing tasks and managing it.

So come and check it out! There’s LOTS of great info and a little entertainment. You can listen to the Spreecast recording here:
